Blænk is the German/Dutch collaboration between designers Silke Geib and Nadine Möllenkamp with company headquarters in Berlin and Amsterdam. Their women’s wear collections focus on high fashion and experimentation.
Blænk’s latest collection is based on the principles of up-cycling. By reusing vintage materials, such as old lace curtains, Blænk captures treasured emotions and values in order to create unexpected unities. The focus of the collection lies in the development of fabric manipulation and hand-weaving techniques, embellishments, and intense haptic textures. Blænk works in an artisanal manner by utilising old techniques such as shirring, stuffing, quilting, hand weaving and combining them with new materials such as technical yarns and Italian silks.
The Spring/Summer 2014 collection exhibits handmade finishings, elaborate craftsmanship and an experimentation. The result is a feminine look that is altogether modern, romantic, sporty, and elegant.
